This Property a heritage building was built in the 1850.
Originally constructed as The Residency for the British
Political Agent - Col. H.E Abbott. Col. Abbott who came to
Jhalawar in the early 1860 is said to have introduced cricket to
the region and inaugurated Jhalawar’s Abbott Cricket Field in
1889, which is still in use adjacent to This Property
By 1905 it became the home to legendary Dancer Uday Shankar ,
when his father served as the Diwan to the Rajranas of Jhalawar.
It was here that Uday Shankar saw the court dancer Kukibai
perform, which inspired him to become a dancer.
