Somewhere to rest, a little bit of quiet, a little bit of peace
i.e. THis Property Built in the early nineteen sixties by the Late General K Umrao
Singh, Homestay was to serve as his post
retirement sanctuary.
Designed by a French Architect, it is a perfect blend
of the old and the new. Resting on part of the sprawling Chomu
estate, it is in the heart of Jaipur City, yet the surrounding
greens seem far away from the hub. This Property is
almost an extension of the General's Personality.

A warm, large hearted man, with a twinkle in the eyes and never
at a loss for anecdotes. A scion of a royal clan of Rajasthan,
he was one of the few officers with a King's Commission in the
Indian Army. A man of varied interests, he spent his hours
painting, writing, hamming and even dairy farming at the
retreat.
The General's Retreat is located at the centre of Jaipur City.
Easily accessible, it is 12 kilometres from the Sanganer
Airport, and barely two kilometres from the Railway Station, the
Bus Stand, and the City Centre.
